The NHL gets their 32nd franchise in a city with a richer hockey history than Arizona or Florida. The newly formed ocean monsters, Seattle Kraken, might lively up the Pacific Northwest hockey scene. Vancouver is only a 2.5 hour drive, where the Canucks are equipped with mighty, fanatic hockey fans.
To honor the Seattle Metropolitans, who were the first American team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917, the S-shaped logo pays tribute to that team. They’ll play in the first carbon neutral arena, the ice will be made from rain water and the zamboni is fully electric; from the inventors of grunge a grand step foward.
