The magazine first appeared five years ago, back then the circulation was 10,000. How is it today?
Sochacki: Now we’re at 63,000.
Oh, congratulations!
It is wonderful to see a homeless newspaper successfully create visibility, to be on a path of growth in print whilst being financially stable. It is printed in several languages. The founder, Pauł Sochacki, offers a counter-model to the dominant economy of exclusion. Sellers keep 100% of the revenue. The newspaper is a haptic manifestation of precarious conditions in art, as well as a home for a Berlin without malls and rent increases. In a way, it’s also a hommage to the Tacheles and the time period of the post-reunification years.
